Skinny Towers Take Over Coast in New Wave Design

Melbourne developer Little Projects has lodged plans with the Gold Coast City Council for its fourth tower at Broadbeach, a slender tower opposite a primary school.

Little Projects acquired the site mid-2021 for about $4.25 million, following the sell-out success of its Aperture and Signature towers.

A two-storey, four-apartment brick complex on the 506sq m parcel of land at 20 Mary Avenue would make way for a 19-storey tower on the site.

Plus Architecture has drawn up the plans for the 17 full-floor apartments, taking style cues from natural forms and coastal lifestyle.

The apartment tower is a two-minute walk from Kurrawa Beach and overlooks the grounds of the Broadbeach State School and Kurrawa foreshore to the ocean.

The tower would comprise 17 three-bedroom, three-bathroom apartments across 17 levels, a recreational deck on Level 1 that includes a sauna, gym and pool, and three basement levels of parking.

It is the latest project in a string of boutique high-end developments that Little Projects has pitched for the Gold Coast.

The Mary Avenue development is just down the road from One Australia, a 37-storey ultra-thin tower proposed for a site on the corner of Old Burleigh Road and Australia Avenue.

It is following Little Projects formula for whole-floor apartment developments, after Aperture and Signature, also in Broadbeach were met with a strong appetite in the market.

Signature sold out in 2021, and the Elenberg Fraser-designed Aperture was launched to market in October last year.

The modernist-style tower is due for completion in 2023 and includes 29 apartments across the 35 levels, with 26 full-floor apartments comprising three bedrooms and three bathrooms.
